Here are five of our favourite things to see and do during your stay.
1. Take a trip to Tällberg
Follow the scenic road north along Lake Siljan through the small villages between Leksand and Tällberg. After about 10 kilometres, you will reach Tällberg, known for its traditional red wooden houses, hotels and beautiful views across Lake Siljan.
Take some time to explore the village on foot and stop for waffles or a Swedish fika at Dalmål Kafé & Hantverk. Make sure to check the current opening hours before your visit.
2. Discover Naturum Dalarna
At Björkberget in Siljansnäs you will find Naturum Dalarna, where you can learn more about the nature, wildlife and geology of Dalarna.
The area also offers beautiful views across the Lake Siljan region. From the 32-metre observation tower, you can see the surrounding landscape from above.
3. Walk along Lake Siljan
Close to Korstäppan you can join Solvändan, a lovely walking trail that follows Lake Siljan towards the centre of Leksand.
It is a perfect way to explore the surroundings at a leisurely pace, starting right from the hotel.
4. Explore central Leksand
Head into the centre of Leksand and browse the local shops. Here you will find everything from interior design and fashion to locally made arts and crafts, as well as cafés and restaurants.
The centre of Leksand is within easy walking distance of Korstäppan.
5. Stop for a Swedish fika
A visit to Dalarna would hardly be complete without at least one proper Swedish fika.
There are several cafés to choose from in central Leksand. One of them is Siljans Konditori, a traditional bakery where bread, buns and pastries have been baked for more than a century.
